Massage

Picture
I am a graduate of Cuyahoga Community College and am licensed through the State of Ohio Medical Board for Therapeutic massage and bodywork. I use an integrative approach specializing in deep tissue, Swedish, myofascial and assisted stretching. With an extensive background in Therapeutic yoga, i have a foundational belief that movement is life.
In my work I pull from Reiki, and chakra balancing – practices that are used to assist balance within the bodies energy fields.
Through compassionate and careful listening I address physical and energetic issues, gently ushering your body toward its own natural healing abilities and opening up the potential for deep releasing of all kinds. I strive to make each session on my table meaningful for your life that day, guiding your body toward peace, balance, and relaxation.

Relaxation Massage
Relaxation massage is all about relaxing. It focuses on giving the client time to recover from the stresses of daily life. When you experience relaxation massage, you can expect a treatment that involves:
  • Long smooth gliding strokes that are rhythmic and flowing
  • Pressure that is deeply relaxing, but not painful
  • A treatment that is designed to soothe and relax you, not to relieve chronic pain or other underlying ailments

Therapeutic Massage vs Deep Tissue
Therapeutic massage is a general term that describes any type of massage modality that helps relieve pain, reduce stress, and work on a specific problem—such as a frozen shoulder. People tend to assume therapeutic massage means deep tissue massage, and that they will get a very strong massage. But this is not always the case. Deep tissue massage is great at breaking down scar tissue and getting your blood circulating, but it may not be what you need on a particular day. A good therapist will apply the specific techniques and the right amount of pressure to address your need, and sometimes that’s a lighter touch.
Types of Therapeutic Massage
  • neuromuscular massage
  • myofascial massage
  • trigger point therapy
  • sports massage
Many therapists will use a combination of techniques depending on what your body needs.
